En esto, no sólo la naturaleza de la composición escrita nos ayuda, en el sentido de que es un proceso que se puede planificar y revisar antes de ser expuesta, sino que las teorías de adquisición de la lengua también apoyan esta visión. La hipótesis del «output» de Marril Swain (Swain, 1985, 1993) afirma que  cualquier tipo de producción lingüística provoca que los estudiantes puedan notar lagunas en sus conocimientos, probar las estructuras que ya conocen, y eventualmente reflexionar sobre cómo están aprendiendo. You could try creating language from scratch. So, for instance, if you really need to acquire irregular past tenses in English, you can write or recite lots of sentences about what you did yesterday, last week or last summer using the verbs you find most difficult.
